1. Choose winch line
Standard: Rugged and efficient with up to three speeds.
Powered: Push-button electric or hydraulic winches let a single crewmember trim large sails, even in heavy air. Please contact Harken to order hydraulic winches
Large Cruising, Megayacht, and Grand Prix Racing:
Please contact Harken for large cruising and megayacht winches, and for ultra-light racing.
2. Determine size
The Sizing Chart is a guideline for selecting winches for different applications and rig dimensions. If you don't know the dimensions, use the Typical Dimensions graphs.
3. Choose plain top or self-tailing
Self-tailing winches eliminate the tailing job so that just one person can trim or raise the sails. Manage light loads with one hand or use both hands to deliver extra power to a SpeedGrip handle.
4. Choose number of speeds
Three-speed winches provide the fastest line speeds.
5. Materials
Use aluminum, the lightest material in the standard line, or customize the appearance with stainless steel, chromed bronze, or polished bronze finishes.
6. Choose handle
Accessories: Ball Bearing Handles
