Sheaves have an axle bearing for high static loads, and are ideal for halyards or limited purchase systems on cruising boats. Contained ball bearings handle side loads so blocks spin freely when loads are released. Use ESP footblocks for reef lines, and genoa sheets where the angle is not extreme. These blocks are easy to install and may be double stacked. The footblock with lockoff is a great way to temporarily secure sheets, and mounts easily to the deck using two screws. Flip foot-block over to install on the opposite side of the boat. ESP Mastbase blocks offer several mounting options. Teardrop-shaped blocks provide direct attachment to padeyes or mast collar posts so lines are held extremely close to the deck. When unloaded, the teardrop shape keeps the block clear of the deck. We designed the 6050 and 6056 for production boats with mounting posts on the mast collar. The 6057 and 6065 padeye-mounted blocks have hourglass-shaped head spacers to seat on the padeye bale. Use ESP swivel and fiddle blocks in winch-driven purchases of 4:1 or less. Perfect for vangs or mainsheet systems on cruising boats from 35 to 45'(10 to 14m).
* - Lockoffs are intended to hold lines temporarily and should not be used in place of line stoppers or clutches ± - If double stacked, upper block is two-thirds of listed SWL and breaking strength
