Winches > Stainless Steel
A series of self-tailing winches in all stainless steel or stainless with a carbon top cap. These winches have a mirror-like finish that will enhance the elegance of the finest yacht. Winches are available in manual, electric and hydraulic drives. They range in size from B56 up to B1140 for large megayachts.
Like all Harken winches, they are reliable, rugged and efficient. They feature more bearings than comparable winches; wide-diameter spindles to decrease bearing loads and friction; and four pawls to maximize reliability and minimize backlash. All load-carrying gears are 17-4 PH stainless for strength and durability.
Two- and Three-Speed Self-Tailing: B56, B66 and B74
Large two- and three-speed self-tailing winches are used for sheets and halyards on large offshore yachts. The stainless steel self-tailing jaws accept a wide variety of line sizes.
Wide Body Self-Tailing: B980, B1110 and B1140
B980, B1110 and B1140 wide-body self-tailing winches are used to trim and raise sails on large megayachts. They are frequently used with pedestal, electric or hydraulic drives. Their large-diameter drums provide extra surface area to hold high loads and to facilitate high-speed line retrieval when sheeting.
The B980 is offered as either a two- or three-speed winch. The B1110 is available only in three speeds. The B1140 is offered in three speeds with optional backwind (0nly available on hydraulic winches) for use on megayachts. Backwind allows counterclockwise winch drum rotation to ease loads before sheet release.
